    PREGNANCY PHOTO TIMELINE

Well, we had our 20 week appointment today.  We found out we are having a little boy and we are very excited.  We've settled on a first name, Jonas, but we can't decide on a middle name.  We're open to any suggestions anyone has.  But, just know if it's dumb we probably won't use it nor will you get a prize if we like your submission.  Moving on!

I've uploaded some pictures in case you're interested in a look see of how things are progressing...

20 weeks pregnant and a boy is on the way!  Starting to notice that tummy poppin' out...

Baby boy's face (looking straight at him) - I think it looks like the skull face part of the Darth Vader mask.

Another profile pic, again with hand near his face - might be sucking his thumb in there...

I tried to load the "boy" picture and some others but Xanga is being stupid right now so when I select it you can see it at all.  It's in the "Pregnancy" album if you want to try and view it there.  Enjoy the pics and send the middle name suggestions my way!  Good night.

  • LOOKING FOR INPUT - UPDATE

I have received word that fictitious characters can be used in my assignment regarding who I'd like to mediate between.  So far I'm thinking:

    1) Benjamin Linus and Charles Widmore

    2) Wylie Coyote and the Roadrunner

    3) Dwight and Andy

Fictitious should hopefully be more fun...

  • PREVIOUSLY ON ABBY'S BLOG

So 24 is back and it's AWESOME.  I'm really enjoying it thus far.  LOST is also back (oh how I've missed you!) and American Idol.  In case you didn't know, there is a guy on the show that I know.  I met him back in college through Steve Jackson.  His name is Ricky Braddy and he's made it through to Hollywood week.  He got all the way to the top 50 so he has a 36/50 chance of making it on the actual show which I think is pretty neat.  He auditioned in Louisville, KY which they showed last week.  His audition didn't get shown but it did show him and others coming out all excited that he made it to Hollywood.  There's probably a much better chance of hearing and seeing him next week when they start showing the Hollywood round.  Anyways...I know most of you don't really care.  I haven't had a chance to get caught up on The Office.  I'm assuming it's been good?

So I'm into my 17th week of pregnancy.  My four month visit is tomorrow morning on my birthday.  I'm meeting with one of the doctors I haven't met with yet.  It probably won't be anything too special.  The big appointment comes next month when we find out the sex of the baby.  I AM DYING TO FIND OUT!  I can't wait until I can stop calling the baby "the baby" or "it" or "the kid."  I've heard from friends that sometimes they let you bring in a blank VHS tape or DVD so they can record the ultrasound.  I hope my doctors' office does that because neither of our families can be there and I'd like them to see it.  If not, they'll give us a ton of pictures I'm sure.  Things have improved with me physically.  I no longer get morning sickness in the evenings and my appetite is increasing (finally!).  I think to this point I've gained about 4-5lbs but it should pick up quite a bit during this trimester.  They say about 1lb a week on average from here on out.  The baby is about 4.5-5" long and weighs about 3.5oz.  My uterus is apparently about the size of an avacado.  Nice.  My recent cravings have been Chinese Food, Little Debbie Zebra Cakes, Sweet Tea, and Pepsi.  Yum!

We had a winter storm hit us over the past 24 hours.  The college I worked for closed for the day so that was super exciting.  They rarely rarely rarely close for bad weather.  I spent about an hour getting all the snow and ice off the car.  I didn't want to have to do it tomorrow morning because my doctor's appointment is at 8:00am and that means getting up extra early.  There was about 4" of snow on the car and under that a solid sheet of ice.  Most of the ice covering the car was about 1/4 - 1/2" thick but there were places where it got as thick as 2/5-3" which was pretty crazy.  Luckily our Vibe's defrosting power is pretty amazing.  It didn't melt things completely but by the time I got to certain areas it was definitely melting on the underside of the ice which made it break apart more easily.

Stuart and I recently discovered a Mexican Restaurant in town that is a truly authentic Mexican Restaurant...like the kind we were used to and loved in North Carolina.  It's called El Rancho Grande.  It reminds us of a hybrid between Mamasitas and Three Amigos in Elizabeth City.  Very good find.

Well, speaking of food I need to go start on dinner.  Until next time...
